Bose Frames
Audio, Reimagined as Eyewear
Bose Frames was a breakthrough project that transformed sunglasses into a new audio category. Initiated by the advanced development team, I supported the program from early concept through to final production—helping bring one of the first audio sunglasses to market.
In the concept phase, I collaborated with an external design agency to explore how a familiar eyewear form could integrate complex electronics without losing its identity. The challenge was to make the product feel like real sunglasses first—natural, wearable, and stylish—while discreetly housing speakers, batteries, and connectivity.
From there, I led the refinement of the design language and key details: defining the front frame proportions, developing hinge solutions, integrating the battery into the temples, and carefully managing how all components come together. A major focus was visual slimness—using proportion, transitions, and surface treatment to make the product appear thinner and more refined than its actual constraints.
The result is a product that feels effortless and familiar, yet entirely new—blending fashion and technology into a seamless, wearable experience that redefines how audio can live on the body.
