FuzzyEar
Safe Sound, Made Personal
FuzzyEar is a thoughtfully designed headphone for kids and parents who want a simple, durable, and safe listening experience. In a world where children have constant access to phones and media, managing sound exposure becomes critical. Guided by recommendations from the World Health Organization—which suggest a maximum of 85 dB for up to eight hours—FuzzyEar is built around a core promise: protect young ears without compromising everyday usability.
The design emphasizes warmth and approachability. Soft fabric wraps key touchpoints, creating a friendly, human feel that’s comfortable for extended wear. The overall form is carefully refined to fit smaller heads without appearing bulky, balancing proportion and stability in a way that feels natural for kids.
Personalization is a central part of the experience. The headband uses a Velcro-compatible surface, allowing kids to attach and swap custom fabric patches, while the plastic earcups support traditional graphic stickers. This dual system gives children freedom to mix textures, colors, and characters—turning the headphone into something uniquely their own.
A key innovation is the adaptive volume control system. On the earcup, a magnetic volume disc works with interchangeable limit modules. Each module sets a different maximum volume level based on age or sensitivity, physically restricting how far the disc can rotate. This creates a simple, tangible way for parents to manage safe listening levels—turning an abstract safety concern into an intuitive interaction.
FuzzyEar combines safety, simplicity, and self-expression—creating a product that feels as caring as it is fun.
